A wonderful website. Watch as your pupils become intrinsically motivated to continue their story into a book by drawing, including text, creating scenes, change page colour and add on pages. Why not allow you pupil to publish their own book in your classroom by printing out their personalised book when finished.

Getting a surprise from the past is actually kind of an amazing thing. So send your future self some words of inspiration. Or just share some thoughts on where you'll or what you'll be up to in a year, three years...more? We recommend using an address with some potential for longevity (gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc)

This resource should enable a child to:
- experience a level of success in writing that will be an incentive to continue writing
Suggestions for use: I recommend that pupils write the email to their future self first using pen and paper. Then, once checked by teacher, allow pupils to individually use a computer to type up. (Ensure parental permission given) Allowing pupils to write the email individually will add a sense of confidentiality, secrecy and specialty to the email. Advice pupils to only share their email when the time-frame is up.

Readwritethink.org has been recommended by a teacher at the Digital MegaMeet conference. This website offers access to quality practice, lesson plans, classroom resources and student inter activities for a variety of ages/abilities. The story-map link has been highlighted as a popular resource for organising thoughts both pre-writing and post writing activities. When students engage in the interactive resources, it is possible to print out their feedback to glue into their copybooks.

This resource should enable a child to:
- create stories and poems
- express his/her reactions to particular experiences in writing
- express in writing his/her reactions to personal reading
- express in writing his/her reactions to poems
- write about favourite moments, characters and events in stories
Suggestions for use: Allow students to independently use this online resource to organise their thoughts before writing an essay so that they develop their characters awareness and appearance throughout their story.
Provide time for students then to compose their essays.
Allow peers to read each others essays providing "what went well" and "even better if" feedback.
Alternatively, experiment with this resource: Get half the class to compose their essays without using the interactive story-map link and the other half of the class to use the story-map link.
Allow your class to judge the effectiveness on the link.
